A JOURNALIST WITH EXPERIENCE
My name is Diego Picado, and my professional foundation is deeply rooted in journalism with both a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Mass Communication. My career has seen a variety of challenges, particularly in the realms of digital content creation and management. Over the years, I have held multiple roles including Content Manager, Media Officer, journalist, commercial announcer, Assistant Producer, and videographer, where I have focused on creating impactful and creative content.
Sports, especially football, have always been a significant part of my life. My passion for the game has not only been a personal joy but also a professional focal point since 2015, when I began working directly with a football club. Before this, I served as a journalist and managed the digital presence for various athletes. My experience in sports extends to a global level, having been involved in four FIFA World Cups (2014, 2018,2022 and Dominican Republic U-17 in 2024) with companies like Cerveza Balboa, FIFA, Buzz 16, and HBS, where I contributed significantly as a content creator.
Currently, I am the social media and content manager for Deportivo Saprissa, the most prominent football club in Central America. In this role, I have successfully enhanced fan engagement through strategic communication efforts. I am fluent in English and Spanish and am currently expanding my linguistic capabilities by learning German. I also hold a sports management degree validated by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). From a young age, football has captivated me, influencing my life profoundly. Now, I am dedicated to sharing the transformative stories of this sport through photos, videos, interviews, and social media posts, continuing to convey the passion that has shaped my life.
